KEEP YOUR SKILLS AND CREDENTIAL CURRENT

To maintain the Certification or the Level I or Level II Training Certificate of Completion, a building operator must accumulate Maintenance Points. Five points per year are required for Level I, and ten points per year are required for Level II. The Northwest Energy Efficiency Council (NEEC) handles all BOC renewals. Please visit NEEC’s website for more details, or contact the BOC Help Desk: 1-877-850-4793, bocinfo@theboc.info.

MAINTAINING CREDENTIALS

Continuing education helps you keep up with industry trends so you can be effective in your work and valuable to your department. If you already have your BOC credential, you can participate in continuing education to earn points toward maintaining it.

WEBINARS

BOC webinars give you the chance to learn from industry experts around the country. We bring you updates on the latest technology and give you real-life ways to improve operational efficiency. When you complete a session and pass a short quiz, you’ll earn 1.5 points toward maintaining your BOC credential.

TRADE SHOWS

Trade shows offer specialized workshops, as well as opportunities for learning and networking with peers. When you participate, you earn points toward maintaining your credential, depending on how many educational sessions you attend.

Through our partnership with BOMI, the Building Owners and Managers Institute, you can earn credits toward your credential by taking select BOMI courses.

NEWSLETTER AND QUIZZES

You can also earn credits through the BOC Bulletin Newsletter. Each issue features a technical article with an online quiz. When you pass the quiz, you earn 1 point toward maintaining your credential.

OTHER

Other forms of continuing education include classroom learning, energy benchmarking and the completion of special projects at your facility. For more information, see our complete list of qualifying activities for maintaining your credential.
